Privacy Policy – Exaram

Effective Date: April 2026

Exaram is a study tool that lets students upload notes, organize them into courses and chapters, and generate AI-powered tests. This privacy policy explains what information is collected and how it is used when you use the app.

Information We Collect

Exaram collects only what is needed to provide the app's features.

How Information Is Used

Your information is used only to provide and improve Exaram's features, including:

Firebase and Cloud Services

Exaram uses Google Firebase to store user accounts, courses, materials, and uploaded files. This includes Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Firebase Storage, and Firebase Cloud Functions. Data stored in Firebase is associated with your user account and is accessible only to you. Firebase's privacy practices are described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

AI Test Generation

When you generate a test, the extracted text from your uploaded notes is sent to a Firebase Cloud Function, which uses an AI service to produce study questions. This content is processed to generate your test and is not used to train AI models or shared with third parties beyond what is necessary to produce the result.

Sign-In Providers

Exaram supports sign-in with Apple and sign-in with Google. When you use either method, basic profile information such as your name and email address may be shared with Exaram to create your account. Exaram does not receive your Apple ID or Google account password. Apple's privacy practices are described at apple.com/legal/privacy. Google's privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy.

Study Locker and Passcode

The Study Locker lets you store personal files privately within the app. If you set a passcode, it is stored in your device's Keychain using Apple's security framework. Your passcode is never sent to or stored on Exaram's servers.

In-App Purchases

Exaram offers subscription plans (Plus and Exam Pro) through Apple In-App Purchase. All billing and payment processing is handled by Apple. Exaram does not receive or store your payment information. Subscription management and cancellation can be done through your Apple ID settings.

Data Sharing

Exaram does not sell your personal data. Your study materials, courses, and uploaded files are not shared with third parties.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your account data and uploaded materials are stored as long as your account is active. You can delete individual materials or courses from within the app at any time. You can delete your entire account from Settings → Account → Delete Account, which removes your login and associated data from our servers.

Children's Privacy

Exaram is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Exaram, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time to reflect app updates, new features, or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
